The State Enterprise “Moldelectrica” today marked the 50th anniversary of the commissioning of the Strășeni 330 kV Substation, one of the most important facilities of the electricity transmission network in the Republic of Moldova, playing a key role in ensuring the safe and stable operation of the National Power System.

The festive event brought together the management of S.E. “Moldelectrica”, representatives of the Ministry of Energy, former and current employees of the substation, as well as guests who, over the years, have contributed to the development of the country’s power infrastructure.

The ceremony was also attended by the Secretary General of the Ministry of Energy, Andrei Grițco, who highlighted the contribution of the Strășeni 330 kV Substation to the development of the energy sector and the importance of investments that will strengthen the electricity transmission infrastructure.

“The 50 years of the Strășeni 330 kV Substation represent five decades of professionalism, responsibility and continuity in the service of the national power system. The work of generations of specialists who have served here has laid a solid foundation for the current development of the energy sector. Modernizing the electricity transmission infrastructure and implementing strategic interconnection projects with the European power system are essential investments for strengthening the energy security of the Republic of Moldova and developing a modern, reliable and resilient grid,” said the Secretary General of the Ministry of Energy, Andrei Grițco.

The General Director of S.E. “Moldelectrica”, Sergiu Carmanschi, highlighted the strategic importance of the Strășeni 330 kV Substation in the operation of the National Power System and the role of the team that has ensured the reliable operation of the high-voltage facilities for five decades.

“The Strășeni 330 kV Substation is a pillar of the electricity transmission network of the Republic of Moldova and a strategic facility for the country’s energy security. The performance of this substation is defined not only by its technical infrastructure, but, first and foremost, by the people who built it, operated it and modernized it over the past 50 years. Today, we pay sincere tribute to all generations of energy professionals and look with confidence to the future, when the Strășeni Substation will enter a new stage of development through modernization projects at the 400 kV level and the integration of digital technologies, contributing to strengthening the Republic of Moldova’s interconnection with the European power system,” said the General Director of S.E. “Moldelectrica”, Sergiu Carmanschi.

The Chairperson of the Board of Directors of S.E. “Moldelectrica”, Corina Popescu, emphasized the importance of the Strășeni Substation team and the role of generations of energy professionals in the development of the national power infrastructure.

“I am pleased to be at the Strășeni Substation for the first time and to meet the people behind this strategic infrastructure. What impresses me most is the fact that generations of energy professionals work here, having built, developed and continuing to modernize the power system. I am confident that, through the projects ahead, this team will continue to contribute to strengthening the energy security of the Republic of Moldova,” said Corina Popescu.

During the ceremony, the main stages in the history of the Strășeni 330 kV Substation and its contribution to the development of the electricity transmission network were highlighted. Participants were also informed about the strategic projects currently being implemented and those planned by S.E. “Moldelectrica”, including the modernization of the substation to the 400 kV level through the integration of state-of-the-art equipment and digital protection, control and monitoring systems designed to increase the reliability and capacity of the transmission infrastructure.

In recognition of their professionalism, responsibility and contribution to the development of the electricity sector of the Republic of Moldova, and on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the Strășeni 330 kV Substation, former and current employees of the substation were presented with Certificates of Appreciation by S.E. “Moldelectrica”.

The Strășeni 330 kV Substation, commissioned on June 30, 1976, remains one of the most important nodes of the electricity transmission network in the Republic of Moldova, playing a key role in ensuring the stability of the national power system and supporting the integration of the country’s energy infrastructure into the European electricity market.
