Cristina Pereteatcu, State Secretary at the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Moldova and Chair of the Working Group for Chapter 15 “Energy,” presented the meeting of Working Group 15 Energy, the progress achieved under the National Accession Program 2025–2029 (NAP), as well as the updated version for the period 2026–2029. The meeting took place in the context of Republic of Moldova’s preparations for European Union accession and aimed to assess progress in the energy sector and trans-European networks (TEN-E).
“Last year was marked by remarkable results in implementing the commitments undertaken, both in the context of the Enlargement Report published on 4 November 2025 and under the NAP 2025–2029, with an implementation rate of approximately 85%,” stated State Secretary Cristina Pereteatcu. She emphasized that these achievements are the result of close interinstitutional cooperation and the effective implementation of planned measures.
The meeting aimed to present the updated National Accession Program, approved by Government Decision No. 818/2025, which includes the implementation of 44 actions in the energy sector, representing the transposition of 44 European Union legislative acts into national law. Key objectives include the modernization of energy infrastructure, increasing energy efficiency, promoting renewable energy sources, and ensuring energy security.
In addition to State Secretary Cristina Pereteatcu, the meeting was attended by the EU Senior Energy Advisor, Alexandru Săndulescu, as well as members of the working group from the State Chancellery, the Office for European Integration, the Ministry of Energy, the National Center for Sustainable Energy, Moldelectrica, the National Agency for Energy Regulation, and the National Agency for Regulation of Nuclear and Radiological Activities (ANRANR). Participants discussed the implementation schedule of actions, identified challenges, and established priority measures for the current year.
