The Republic of Moldova and the United States of America will deepen collaboration in the field of promoting information security and cyber defense. Today, Minister Victor Parlicov signed the Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Energy and the U.S. Civilian Research and Development Foundation (CRDF), represented by the Director of the Office for Europe and Central Asia, Mykhailo Verych.

The agreement expresses the commitment of both states to increase the general level of cyber defense, implementation and development of information data security systems and the systems in which they are processed. Also, according to the understanding, the parties will intensify scientific and educational cooperation, provide mutual exchange of statistical and analytical information, as well as undertake actions to raise the level of awareness in the field of information security among the population and public officials.

"This Memorandum marks an important step in promoting cooperation and exchange of experience between the Republic of Moldova and the United States of America in the field of information and cyber security. In the context of the hybrid warfare we are facing, it is necessary to strengthen the capacities of all state institutions in the field of data protection and prevention of cyber-attacks," Minister Victor Parlicov said at the event .

The United States strongly supports the Government's efforts to strengthen our country's cyber and information security. At the end of last year, US experts organized a workshop where Moldovan civil servants were trained on information protection measures, countering disinformation and developing public policies in the field of cyber defense.
