The Ministry of Energy Encourages Young People to Pursue a Career in the Energy Sector

Young people interested in the energy field had the opportunity to learn more about how the sector operates and the professional opportunities it offers. The event, held at the Ministry of Energy, brought together students from various educational institutions, as well as members of the Young Diplomats Association, providing participants with a comprehensive view of the challenges and projects in Moldova’s national energy sector.

 

During the meeting, participants had direct discussions with the Ministry’s leadership, including the Minister of Energy, Dorin Junghietu, State Secretary Carolina Novac, responsible for the renewable energy and electricity portfolio, and State Secretary Vitalie Mîța, who oversees the areas of thermal energy, natural gas, petroleum products, and energy efficiency.

 

The discussions focused on the ongoing transformations in Moldova’s energy sector, with an emphasis on infrastructure modernization, the development of renewable energy sources, and strengthening energy security.

 

“The energy sector is one of the most dynamic and strategic areas of the economy, and the transformations it is undergoing today create real professional opportunities for young people. We need well-prepared specialists capable of contributing to the modernization of energy infrastructure, the development of renewable energy, and the implementation of innovative technologies. The energy sector is becoming increasingly attractive, offering stable career prospects and the opportunity to participate directly in processes that shape the future of Moldova,” stated Minister Dorin Junghietu.

 

Participants also attended a presentation by the European Union Senior Energy Advisor, Alexandru Săndulescu, who spoke about recent developments in the sector, the main challenges, and the opportunities arising from integrating the national energy market into the European energy space.

 

Participants asked questions about the national energy sector, focusing on renewable energy, energy security, and strategic development directions.
