Thus, it is expected that the thermal power plants in Chisinau and Balti will generate over 127 thousand MWh (which constitutes about 28% of consumption), while 46 thousand MWh would constitute renewable energy (both from installations that have a fixed tariff established by ANRE and those on the free market), totaling approximately 10%. Renewable energy sources, however, depend on weather conditions and cannot be counted as reliable and continuous sources.

 

The remaining 62% will represent imports from Romania, of which most will be energy purchased on the Romanian OPCOM exchange. Over 178 thousand MWh (equivalent to 39% of the required) are to be purchased from OPCOM, and another 105 thousand MWh (23%) based on bilateral contracts.

 

SA Energocom has sought the most optimal contracts for consumers in the Republic of Moldova, taking into account different consumption for day/night, working day/day off, as well as taking into account price offers.

 

Energocom will work in collaboration with the transmission system operators in Romania and the Republic of Moldova to make it possible to fulfill the contractual commitments. It should be noted that currently imports from Romania are dependent on the commercial capacity allocated at the border.
