A group of Romanian experts is in Chisinau to provide technical assistance to the Ministry of Energy

Until the end of October 2024, four experts from the Romanian Ministry of Energy will provide technical assistance to the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Moldova in the field of European affairs, for the rapid advancement of the negotiation and accession process to the EU.

The experts are specialized in the preparation and management of investment programs and projects with European funds, in audit and control body, and with extensive experience in the field of anti-fraud.

The team of experts includes Nicolae Niculăiță, advisor in the Cabinet of the Minister of Energy of Romania with responsibilities in the field of internal audit, control, implementation of measures ordered by the Court of Accounts of Romania, Carmen Catrinel Muscalu, Head of the Technical Monitoring and Procurement Verification Service, Liliana Elena Cocoroveanu, Senior Advisor, Directorate General for Investments and Marius Cătălin Mincă, advisor in the Directorate General for Investments and the Directorate for Technical Monitoring and State Aid.

Romanian experts will also provide technical assistance to the National Center for Sustainable Energy (CNED), the Electricity Transmission System Operator SE "Moldelectrica" ​​and the Consolidated Unit for the Implementation and Monitoring of Projects in the Energy Sector (UCIPE), given their intention to participate in the call for proposals for PCI/PMI projects (Projects of common interest / Projects of mutual interest), as well as in the development of the secondary regulatory framework of the Law on the Energy Performance of Buildings (PEC) and the modeling of the future Integrated National Energy and Climate Plan (PNIEC).

"We would like to express our deep gratitude for the support provided and for sending experts in the central public administration to Chisinau, for technical assistance in the field of European affairs. This will significantly contribute to advancing the negotiation and accession process of the Republic of Moldova to the European Union", noted the Secretary of State, Cristina Pereteatcu.

Currently, the Ministry of Energy benefits from the assistance of a High-Level Advisor from Romania within the EU High-Level Advisors Mission to the Republic of Moldova (EUHLAM).

The support provided focuses on implementing the EU energy acquis, enhancing energy security, establishing natural gas and electricity interconnections with the EU networks, and developing a sustainable energy sector by promoting the use of renewable energy sources and energy efficiency projects.
