Energy Minister Victor Parlicov discussed with the management of the state-owned Moldelectrica about ongoing infrastructure projects and potential initiatives to improve the electricity transmission system.

Moldelectrica's role has changed radically in recent years, and the energy crisis has further accelerated the process of rethinking and restructuring the company, the minister said. "Due to the energy crisis and the bombardment of Ukraine's power sector, which directly affected us as well, foreign partners mobilized and respectively allocated unprecedented support to Moldova. And so today we have an atypical situation where we have allocated funds for certain infrastructure projects and we have to work on the technical documentation. So the problem is not the money, but our ability to use it and make changes", Victor Parlicov pointed out.

In addition, the acting director of Moldectrica, Sergiu Aparatu, mentioned the financing for changing certain lines, transformers and technologies, either within the World Bank projects or in the dialog with the French Development Agency.

At the end the Minister of Energy, Victor Parlicov, thanked the Moldelectrica team for the exemplary mobilization in critical moments and for the proactive role in the dialogue with the Romanian side regarding interconnections, discussions on the Romanian operator for capacity allocation and in preparing the emergence of the market operator in our country.
