On December 16, 2024, the third Monday of the month, according to the ENTSO-G calendar, the auctions for the reservation of natural gas transmission capacity for January 2025 took place. According to the data of the Ministry of Energy, Gazprom did not make any reservations for transmission capacity for January 2025. Capacity reservations were made by international traders from the region

 

Thus, capacity reservations took place on the Trans-Balkan gas pipeline at the following interconnection points:

 

On the border between Turkey and Bulgaria (Malkoclar / Strandzha 2), a transmission capacity of about 2.55 million m3/day was reserved. Capacity of 3.58 million m3/day remained available.

 

On the border between Bulgaria and Romania (Kardam / Negru Vodă I), a transmission capacity of about 0.9 million m3/day was reserved. Capacity of 8.77 million m3/day remained available.

 

At the border between Romania and Ukraine (Isaccea 1 / Orlovka) no transport capacity was reserved. 10.35 million m3/day remained available.

 

At the border between Romania and Moldova (Ungheni / Ungheni), a transport capacity of about 4.45 million m3/day was reserved. A capacity of 1.65 million m3/day remained available.

 

At the moment, until the end of December 2024, natural gas deliveries by Gazprom to the Transnistrian region of the Republic of Moldova constitute 5.7 million m3/day.

 

Daily natural gas consumption on the left bank of the Dniester in January, including at MGRES for the production of electricity for the left bank, without the application of consumption efficiency measures, is estimated at about 3.7 million m3/day.

 

The daily consumption of the left bank in January, if MGRES operates on coal, minimizing industrial activity, as well as applying consumption reduction measures, is estimated to be between 2.3 and 2.7 million m3/day.

 

The next auction for the reservation of transport capacity for January will take place daily starting with December 31, 2024, throughout January.
