Minister of Energy, Victor Parlicov, had a meeting with the Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Chisinau, Fred Dujin. The parties discussed the projects and reforms launched in the energy sector of the Republic of Moldova, with the aim of increasing energy security, but also the energy resilience of our country.

Parlicov assured that the Republic of Moldova is ready to ensure the constant delivery of electricity and natural gas to end consumers, regardless of the situations that may arise with the expiration of the natural gas transit contract through Ukraine on January 1, 2025.

At the same time, Victor Parlicov thanked the Netherlands for the support provided to the Republic of Moldova at crucial moments during the energy crisis, providing political support, expertise and financial assistance focused on diversifying energy supply sources and increasing energy security. For example, in October 2021, the Republic of Moldova made its first gas purchases on the international market with the support of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.

The two officials also discussed with Dutch Ambassador Fred Duijn the renewable energy potential of the Republic of Moldova and its integration into the grid, as well as the green transition agenda.
