Local public authorities and entrepreneurs are showing interest in the diversification of electricity supply sources and eligibility for energy efficiency projects, as well as in identifying qualified energy specialists. These were the main topics of discussion during the visit of the Secretary of State of the Ministry of Energy, Constantin Borosan, to Telenesti district, which took place in the context of the visits of government representatives in the territory.

At the Telenesti Rayon Council, Constantin Borosan had a constructive dialog with the President of the Telenesti Rayon, Iurie Tulgara, the Deputy Head of the Orhei Territorial Office of the State Chancellery, Nelea Cazacu, mayors of the district's localities, representatives of deconcentrated public services and local business environment.

The participants were informed about the Ministry of Energy projects implemented in various partnerships, state policies in the field of energy efficiency and the opportunities offered to local public administration in the context of country projects.

The question-answer session discussed the mechanisms of metering and net metering of electricity from renewable sources, the transfer of electricity from one production site to multiple consumption sites, the possibilities of using the electricity infrastructure of the grid distributor for street lighting, the possibility of using agricultural land for the installation of photovoltaic panels, the eligibility criteria of LPAs in various projects, etc.

The Secretary of State emphasized that one of the main goals of the Ministry of Energy is to create the legislative basis for the diversification of the energy market and to ensure the implementation of a number of strategic interconnection projects with Romania and the European Union, in order to capitalize on the benefits of the free energy market.

"To maximize the potential of renewable energy sources we need to consume rationally, invest in balancing consumption and increase energy efficiency," the Secretary of State stressed.

In Telenesti, Constantin Borosan visited several locations, where the potential of green energy is being tapped and energy efficiency measures are being applied.

Telenesti District Hospital has been implementing various projects for several years, ensuring very good conditions for patients, including the use of green energy for water heating. The management of the institution is planning to expand the power generation areas to ensure a higher level of energy and economic efficiency.

The Telenesti Health Centre is also currently a model site for exploiting energy efficiency opportunities in buildings, which will enable the institution to optimize its costs and provide even better quality health services to the population in the future.
