- 217 reads
On January 27, 2026, difficult weather conditions characterized by freezing rain and ice affected the normal operation of electricity distribution networks in several regions of the country.
At 06:45, the distribution system operator (DSO) ÎCS Premier Energy Distribution SA (Central–Southern region) reported 12 partially affected localities, with a total of 4,457 system users impacted and 363 service notifications received/registered. Most of the affected consumers, 3,428 in total, are from Criuleni district (localities: Molovata, Riscova, Ohrincea, Stetcani, Oxentea, Miclesti, Bolohan, Marcauti).
At the same time, DSO SA RED-Nord (Northern region) reported at 05:00 unplanned outages lasting more than 3 minutes, affecting a total of 16,408 system users. Of these, 9,181 consumers have been disconnected from electricity supply since January 26, 2026, between 18:00 and 20:00. Network faults were primarily caused by frost deposits and fallen trees, with the following issues observed:
On the 10 kV overhead line in Unchitești village, Florești district: conductor breaks and bent crossarms;
On the 10 kV overhead lines in Cotiujeni, Cușelauca, and Cușelovca villages, Șoldănești district: 15 poles fell to the ground, including conductor drops and partial conductor breaks;
Fallen trees between poles requiring cord removal to secure the area;
Malfunction of network equipment.
In the electricity transmission networks managed by ÎS Moldelectrica, on January 26, 2026, at 21:25, as a result of network faults (caused by adverse weather, frost deposits, and mechanical stresses on conductors), several 10 kV feeders at the branches (North, North-West, and Central) were disconnected, as well as some 110 kV overhead lines, including connections in the Dubăsari area and other lines.
