January 28, 2025, Chișinău – 3 million cubic meters of natural gas will be delivered to the Transnistrian region based on a loan contract to be signed between SA “Moldovagaz” and SRL “Tiraspoltransgaz”. The agreement will be guaranteed by the European Union. This measure is necessary to maintain critical pressure in the pipelines on the left bank of the Dniester to keep the distribution network functional. A decision to this effect was approved during a meeting of the Emergency Situations Commission, chaired by Prime Minister Dorin Recean.

The gas volume will be reimbursed by SRL “Tiraspoltransgaz” to SA “Moldovagaz” by March 1, 2025, and if physical repayment is not possible, the gas will be paid for.

Additionally, the CSE members decided to allocate 1.5 million lei from the Government's Intervention Fund to local authorities in the village of Doroțcaia, Dubăsari district, and the village of Fîrlădeni, Căușeni district. The funds will be used to purchase fuel, electric boilers, and air conditioning units necessary to ensure the operation of public institutions and educational facilities.

Furthermore, the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations of the Ministry of Internal Affairs will temporarily transfer, free of charge, 7 electric generators to the Municipality of Doroțcaia village.

Another decision by the CSE concerns the compensation mechanism for domestic producers in the food sector and the processing industry. Compensation will also be available to economic agents who purchase electricity from a wholesale consumer or as users in a closed electricity distribution system. The compensation request can be submitted starting from February 3, on a dedicated section of the governmental portal MCabinet/EVO.
