Digital Transformation of the Energy Sector: A Strategic Priority for 2026–2030

The Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Moldova held a working meeting with energy sector enterprises to present the planned activities for 2026 and projections for 2027 in line with the Digital Transformation Program for the Energy Sector 2026–2030.

 

During the meeting, representatives of energy enterprises presented a self-assessment matrix on the current level of digitalization, planned investments for 2026, including their funding status, as well as the main challenges and risks identified in the program implementation process.

 

State Secretary Cristina Pereteatcu emphasized that digitalizing the energy sector is a strategic priority for modernizing the national energy system and enhancing its resilience. She highlighted the importance of accelerating digitalization processes to increase operational efficiency, improve transparency, and strengthen the security of energy infrastructure.

 

“Digital transformation of the energy sector is no longer optional; it is a necessity to ensure a modern, efficient, and secure energy system. It is essential that each enterprise plans its investments realistically, identifies risks in advance, and implements digital solutions that will contribute to improving the quality of services provided to consumers,” stated Cristina Pereteatcu.

 

The meeting also outlined the next steps for implementing the Digital Transformation Program. The Ministry of Energy, together with sector enterprises, discussed the prioritization of objectives and actions for 2026, necessary corrective measures, reporting deadlines, monitoring mechanisms, and the responsibilities and commitments of each institution involved.
